The Big Picture

I have a complete 1st draft of Eclipser.

What’s wrong with it?

The story is an early version. It’s boring and stiff. Since then I’ve combined and changed characters and added a lot of new scenes to make a much better outline.

So I’ll complete rough versions of all of the chapters, using the new outline. That’s draft 2.

After that, I’ll adjust the bigger things, make the writing more polished and engaging, get some feedback, and tweak again. That’s draft 3.

Then it’s publishing time, and you guys will get the book in your inbox! I hope to hold Eclipser in my hands in a few short months.

Now…

  • I work out the kinks and the structure of the next chapter. Sometimes I have to fix or finalize something, like a character’s point of view.

  • I make a chapter-sized outline.

  • Start typing it up, and see what new problems come to light…

  • Fix them or don’t and move on.

Now, like RIGHT NOW…

I’m finishing up this email and then I’ll get some lunch. Thanks again for coming along on the adventure!
